There is some interesting material on Scientology and its effect on children. F.A.C.T Net shows the material in some detail. This document shows that Scientology protects child abusers. State of Florida v Strawn. In 1995, a Scientologist was convicted of sexually molesting his young stepdaughters. His wife stated, under oath, that the "Church" of Scientology ordered her not to report it.
The Xenu Directory is even more interesting. It provides many stories of children who have been mistreated.
Scientology award winner has been involved on msbp.com and evidence suggests that victims are recruited to wage war against the system of Child Protection. There are links between this campaigner and Brian Daniels of CCHR UK. Brian Daniels being the point of contact for recruitment to Scientology. Brian Daniels was also involved in referring Dr Patrick Cosgrove. Scientology is anti msbp as a diagnosis and also anti psychiatric medication. Dr Cosgrove a pioneer in ADHD was struck off the GMC Register following this CCHR complaint.
If it is true that Scientology has a negative influence on children then their aim would be undermine the speciality of child protection, to undermine the diagnosis of msbp and to undermine medication treatment that may improve the child. The efforts of the anti msbp campaigning group with assistance from the Scientologists have achieved a destruction to child protection work as shown by the recent report. This issue is not recognised within the UK. It is also clear that many doctors involved within child protection are targetted. Methods include defamation over the internet, repetition of slanderous comments about doctors, destruction to the doctor's practise, repeated complaints and basic harassment.
This group has also successfully ensured that the two leaders in child protection work have been struck off the GMC Register.
As specified above, child protection as a speciality is a risk to Scientology. The negative ideas of Scientology regarding child protection is detailed in the piece Child Protection Racket. This can be compared to a list of abuses by the Church of Scientology as listed here.
